The firm
Alpha Capital Management, LLC (ACM) grew out of the fund Brook Church-Koegel launched in 2018 and was formed in California in 2020; he serves as the firm's CEO. ACM invests as a co-GP alongside institutional investors and, through its affiliated platforms — the Insurance Education Institute and Advisors Edge — works directly with financial professionals to build fluency in quantitative investment methods.
The path
Brook's path to founding ACM ran through management consulting for hedge funds and private equity firms, an operating role improving performance for a high-end fitness chain, and several years in the insurance and real estate divisions of a national private equity firm. In 2018, he launched his first fund, which became the foundation of ACM.
Brook's ownership in ACM is held through Alpha Asset Holdings (AAH), his personal holding company and the foundation of his family office.
Durable firms are built by owners, not tenants.
Stewardship, early
Brook's approach to leadership traces back further than his professional career: as president of Tree Musketeers — a youth-run environmental nonprofit in El Segundo — from 1987 to 1994, and as a longtime volunteer with the organization afterward, he learned early what it takes to build and steward an organization responsibly.
